Come join us for the 3rd annual Salt Lake City Pride Day 5K in conjunction with the Utah Pride Festival beginning at 9 am on Saturday, June 2, 2012.
Runners, joggers and walkers of all stripes are invited to participate. The 5K course will take runners past Salt Lake's beautiful Capitol building, City Creek Canyon, and finish in Memory Grove. Bring the dogs, bring the kids & strollers...heck, bring your grandmother! It's sure to be a fun time for all!
Proceeds from the Pride Day 5K go directly to Utah Pride's Student Scholarship Program to award two Utah students (1 undergraduate, 1 non-traditional) with higher-education scholarships. Overall winners will receive VIP passes to the Festival, and winners in each age group will receive complimentary Utah Pride Festival entrance tickets.

Race Details
Start Line & Registration Location
Athletes will start the race on Capitol Boulevard (which is directly east of the Utah State Capitol building). Late registration and packet pickup will be located directly south of the starting line area.
Finish Line Location
Near entrance of Memory Grove. No vehicle traffic or parking is available inside Memory Grove. Parking is available near the start line.
Categories & Awards
Awards will be presented immediately following the race at about 9:45 AM. Utah Pride Festival award packages will go to the overall male and female finishers. 1st place overall award packages include: 2 Utah Pride Festival VIP Passes which will give you and a friend admission to the Festival and VIP Lounge on Saturday and Sunday, as well as 2 beverages each in the VIP Lounge during the weekend. 2nd & 3rd place overall packages will include 2 Festival Tickets for Saturday and Sunday.
The top male and top female in each age-group will also receive awards. Age-groups will be broken down into the following categories for male and female runners: (under 18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
Course Description/Info
Athletes will start the race on Capitol Blvd. They will then head north on Capitol Blvd., veering right onto Bonneville Blvd. This road will take athletes to the mouth of City Creek Canyon and up to 11th Avenue. Once reaching 11th Avenue, athletes will turn around and head back down Bonneville Blvd. (North towards the mouth of City Creek). Immediately before reaching the mouth of City Creek Canyon, athletes will turn left onto Canyon Road, which will then drop them down into Memory Grove. The finish line will be located towards the entrance of Memory Grove (approx. 6th Avenue).
Aid Stations
Water will be provided at the mile 1 & 2 aid stations. Water and a variety of other drinks and foods will be available at the finish area.
